Greg Havill, Head PGA Golf Professional
Greg has been the Head Professional at Woodstock Club since 1988. Greg takes pride in running a quality golf program and providing first class service to the golfing membership of the Club.
While at Woodstock, Greg has been recognized as the Indiana Golf Professional of the Year in 2005, Teacher of the Year in 2001, and earned the Indiana Section Player of the Year award in 1992. Greg grew up in Columbus, Indiana, and played 4 years of collegiate golf at Ball State University graduating in 1981 with a degree in Business Administration. Greg has won numerous golf tournaments throughout his playing career and has participated in the National Club Professional Championship 7 times and has competed on the PGA Challenge Cup Team 17 times in 2011.
Greg was awarded the Bill Strausbaugh Award by the Indiana Section PGA in 2011. Greg was nominated by the Indiana Section Board of Directors and the Special Awards Committee selected him to receive the Section Award. The Bill Strausbaugh Award is presented annually to an Indiana golf professional for distringuished service in mentoring other PGA professionals, integrity and character reflecting positively upon the profession, and outstanding involvement in charitable and community activities. Greg is very proud and honored to receive the award. The list of past winners is very impressive and it is quite humbling to be affiliated with such a distringuished group of professionals.
Greg and his wife, Lauri, have been married 27 years and have 2 children. Daughter Taylor is a senior at the IU Medical Center downtown Indianapolis. Andrew is a freshman at Indiana University where he plays golf on the IU Golf Team. In the off season, their family spends time on the beach and skiing in Colorado.
